The Children's Grief Support Initiative (CGSI) is a statewide collaborative effort led by J3F to strengthen partnerships, increase grief awareness, and expand support for children and families throughout California. Building a Future Where No Child Should Grieve Alone. Bringing together education, healthcare, public safety, local government, businesses, nonprofit organizations, faith communities, and - most importantly - students to strengthen support for children and families navigating grief. Official CGSI Inaugural State Capitol Gathering October 30, 2026 CGSI Regional Summits San Joaquin County - November 2, 2026 Stanislaus County - Coming Soon Sacramento County - Coming Soon Regional Summit Scholarship One $3,000 J3F Regional Summit Scholarship will be awarded to a student attendee at each summit.

The J3F Youth Philanthropy Leaders (YPL) empowers young people to lead through compassion, service, and community engagement.
YPL members support J3F initiatives while gaining meaningful volunteer experience, developing leadership skills, and making a lasting impact in the lives of children and families navigating grief.
Rooted in J3F's mission, the program encourages youth to discover the power of giving back, inspiring the next generation of community leaders dedicated to building stronger, more connected communities.
Annual J3F Youth Philanthropy Leadership Scholarship
Each year, J3F proudly awards one J3F Youth Philanthropy Leadership Scholarship to recognize a member who has demonstrated exceptional leadership, service, compassion, and commitment to our mission.
Scholarship eligibility and selection requirements include active participation in the J3F Youth Philanthropy Leaders Program, volunteer service, leadership, community involvement, and completion of the annual scholarship application. Additional eligibility requirements and deadlines are available through the application process.
